The Power of Conversation

Mary has spoken to hundreds of groups in the Carolinas and across the country, including Meeting Professionals International, Public Relations Society of America, Lowe’s Home Improvement, the North Carolina Conference for Women, among others. She speakers on the power of engagement, the creative process, and transformation. She also speaks on the subject of her thesis, Sarah Merriam Wait, a 19th century Vermonter who, after an emotional conversion, followed her husband South to establish Wake Forest College. Her lectures explore how Sally, as she was known, negotiated the influences of faith, gender, race, class, politics, and education as she followed her perceived calling.
