A Turn of Events: Journey from Success to Self.
A life-altering silent walk across the Sahara Desert woke Mary up to the possibilities of change. Fifteen years into running her business, Mary was successful, yet frustrated, tired and bored. While she enjoyed many outward acclaims, inside she was a wreck. Cash flow, staffing challenges and general management issues kept her up at night wondering, “Is this all there is?” Her journey to the Sahara taught her to comfortably live in the balance of success and self. She eventually grew her event management company to a staff of 18, taking on larger and more meaningful projects. Then, on the eve of the recession, a car accident took Mary out of the game. Nearly five months of recovery during a plummeting economy led her to sell her business and explore a new life, which led her to a high-profile role with the Democratic National Convention. During this talk, Mary helps audience members navigate the journey between a satisfying career and enlightening and rewarding spiritual life.
Journey to Transformation
A life-altering silent walk across the Sahara Desert woke Mary up to the possibilities of change and self-examination. The Sahara journey turned out to be just the beginning of her search for meaning and transformation. Mary has journeyed to Tibet to study the Buddhist culture; Botswana to live with the Kalahari Bushman; the Ecuadorian Rain Forest to meet with the indigenous Achuar people; and the Andes of Peru to meet with Shaman. Through it all, she experienced mystical lessons of transformation that she brings to life through her humorous and spine-tingling stories of travel. The audience leaves inspired to embrace the transformative quality of “being” in their everyday life.
