Cue the Ballyhoo: Creating a Life with Impact and Joy

As an event planner, Mary lived for it–that moment of “ballyhoo” when the top award winner comes to the stage or the headliner act cues the finale. This is the culmination of months of planning–when the music plays, the confetti sprays and the spotlights sweep around the room. The audience jumps to their feet, hands blazing in applause, while the winner takes her bows or the band strikes the last chord.

During our careers, we all have our ballyhoo moments—the long-deserved promotion, the national sales award, or the feature magazine article. While these moments motivate us, they aren’t enough to sustain us. A few seconds of glitter and glam might feel like empty calories compared to what we imagined our lives to be.
